Each "stack" on the map would be a corps, lead by a marshal (or equivalent), organized into 3-6 divisions (retinues in TW3K terms) lead by a general, that is made of individual brigades or battalions ("units") belonging to a specific branch of warfare e.g. If CA make another Napoleonic game using an expanded version of the TW3K army organization, now that would also be a brilliant. If the Ultimate Generals series or Grand Tactician series makes a Napoleonic game, that would be great. Other than that, John Tiller's series is basically a turn-based version of this game. NTW3 mod's page in moddb literally has "breathtaking multiplayer experience" as the main selling point.Īs much as I hate the fact that this game is limited only to the most uninteresting, unbalanced, limited (in terms of nations and generals involved) Napoleonic war, and its plethora of usability, presentation, performance problems, this one is still the best of the three when used with mods like Grog Toolbar. In fact I daresay the simplistic model of warfare of NTW is more suited for quick multiplayer skirmishes. NTW lacks fundamental elements of warfare, especially of the Napoleonic era - command structure.
